My father founded one of the first printed circuit electronics plants in the UK in Galashiels, Scotland in the late 50s and his companies went on to work on the NASA Apollo mission projects. He inspired an entrepreneurial spirit in me and he wasn’t the only one—my mother, who provided unrelenting encouragement, and was successful in the mental health industry, and my great grandfather who was a member of the engineering committee that led the project to reverse the flow of the Chicago river in the late 1800s. I come from a family with a history of innovation and passion and found a lot of inspiration there.
